Scene On TV

Video

MTV’s brand new series WakeBrothers kicked things off last week with back-to-back episodes introducing the show. The show stars Phil and Bob Soven, two pro wakeboarding brothers who couldn’t be farther apart in terms of personality (#1 ranked Phil is the driven professional, younger brother Bob is the laid-back, mischievous wild card). We hope this series can live up to some other MTV shows that followed action sports stars, like Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory and Nitro Circus, and were pretty psyched by the music in the first episodes.

In the pilot, which you can stream above, 2 old favorites of this blog have songs featured - JTX with “Love In America” and Pigeon John’s classic “The Bomb”. Look for the JTX song over some shots of wakeboarding action right before they are shown getting ready for their double date.  ”The Bomb” can be heard when Bob is the only one to successfully hit the rail and land.
