NEW BAND ALERT : Vega Schenk, the chief songwriter in the much-loved Los Angeles band Castaneda, has a new electronic project called The Boom Circuits, that takes the new wave sounds of his other band and pushes them further into funky, dance-floor ready territory.

Although the band is brand new, they have already caught the attention of the folks at One Tree Hill, who used their song “The Pressure” in the latest episode, “The Smoker You Drink, the Player You Get,” which also happens to be the last episode until the series resumes again in April. What’s more, the song provided the perfect playful backdrop to one of the funniest scenes of the episode, as Tommy gets Alex’s glasses and has chuck put them on. Check it out above to see what happens.
