We always love reader submissions, and our latest reader submission features two great songs from some of our long-time favorite artists, both of which happened in a recent episode (“Rewind”) of the USA series Suits.

Junip’s “Without You” plays as Harvey has a flashback on the train, and “Thursday” by Asobi Seksu plays as Nikki finds out Mike is a genius. While both songs achieve a dreamy, blissful transcendence, we love how they arrive at the same emotional impact through vastly different approaches - Junip relies on Jose Gonzalez’s soothing, smokey voice over gentle cascading acoustic guitars, while Asobi Seksu lays the shoegazey atmosphere on thick with reverb, effects pedals, synths and guitars galore.

I was shopping for some clothes online the other day, when I decided to check out Barney’s. Turns out, they’ve come up with a fully interactive online catalog that you can flip through. I’ve seen something similar done before for online magazines, but never catalogs, and after checking it out, I can’t believe more companies aren’t doing the same thing.
One part of the interactive catalog that was especially awesome was the use of many different songs depending on where you were in the catalog.
“My Horse Must Lose” by The Sound of Animals Fighting is the song playing when you first visit the site & throughout the online catalog, which is a great mood-setter with really pretty tones.
Some other standout songs I found while browsing include:
“My Time” by Minus the Bear, with the music video posted on pages 21-22. They’ve recently switched labels to Dangerbird Records (also home to favorites Silversun Pickups, Hot Hot Heat, and Fitz & The Tantrums), but as evidenced by their latest album, Omni, they still are on top of their game.
“Transparence” by Asobi Seksu also made a music video appearance in the catalog on‘pages 23-24. These shoegazers have always conjured up such pretty sound textures and this song is no exception.
