We haven’t been shy in sharing our love for Dev - since the first time we heard the catchy, hypnotic groove of “In the Dark” we’ve been hooked, and by the looks of it, we’re not the only ones. MTV recently ran a documentary entitled Dev’s World, which you can watch above. Featuring the aformentioned “In the Dark” as well as “Breathe,” “Bass Down Low,” “Naked,” and “In My Trunk,” this is a great behind-the-scenes look at one of pop’s rising stars. See how her handling of being on the brink of superstardom only to find out she was pregnant and more and enjoy all the great tunes.

Fashion Star is back tonight, and in anticipation of that, we thought we’d share with you a favorite music moment from last week’s episode - Dev’s “Naked” plays during the runway show for the last two designers. You can watch the whole episode above, and if you’re looking for the Dev song, it’s at about 44 minutes in and is the song playing while all the fashions are being presented on the catwalk.

While we were in Austin for SXSW, the MTVU Woodie Awards were held (and subsequently aired) and they crammed more good tunes into one program than we can remember in a long time. In addition to some sick live performances from Dev, Walk the Moon and Santigold, the show also featured some more tunes by Dev and Walk the Moon, as well as tracks from Mac Miller, Chiddy Bang and a New Boyz track “Backseat” which features guest vocals from Dev.

For those of you not as fortunate as us to be in Austin live for the real deal, you can check out above to stream the entire awards show.

Dev’s “In the Dark” might just be our favorite new dance floor jam of 2011…seriously does any song better get you in the mood to party than this?

The folks at Parks and Recreation obviously agree, as they use they have the song blasting at Tom’s 720 Entertainment “End of the World” party.

TV/TV’s “Turn Me On” wasn’t the only awesome, edgy song to be used in the casino scene of last night’s Lying Game…in the second part of the scene, as Sutton’s luck begins to turn around with a new dealer, Demi Lovato’s “Who’s That Boy” played throughout. From the moment you hear the dancey hook, it’s hard not to get up for this tune, and to top things off, it also features guest vocals from up-and-comer Dev, who we have speculated may be the next big thing. Kudos goes to the music people at The Lying Game, who have made the show our favorite pick for music since last year’s season of Shameless.

Could Dev be the next MNDR - a starlet with sultry club dance songs that explodes onto the scene out of nowhere to become huge? We predicted that type of success for MNDR after we heard her guest vocals in Mark Ronson’s terrific “Bang, Bang, Bang” and soon after it seemed like she was everywhere….well, not long after hearing Dev’s “Dance in the Dark” used in the promos for the new season of 90210, the song has already gained enough popularity to be featured in Dancing With The Stars, set to the amazing choreography by Marguerite Derricks.

WE’RE BACK

In case you haven’t noticed, things have been quiet around here lately…both of us started school again, and thanks to California’s budget crisis, we have been busy trying to crash classes the past two weeks, but that’s all settled now so stay tight for a flood of new updates.

With school being back in session, that of course means that new Fall TV seasons are/have been premiered. 90210 is one such show that is starting up again, and in their season preview trailer, they used a great song called “In the Dark” by Dev. Dev is another new artist who reminds us somewhat of Oona with her great mix of electropop and soul influences. Though she doens’t sound like either artist, we think fans of Amy Winehouse or Kesha won’t be disappointed.
