As far as we’re concerned, the only thing better than one Sleigh Bells song is two Sleigh Bells songs…and the new trailer for Kick-Ass 2 has just that as it features both “Infinity Guitars” and “Crush,” in a nice tip of the hat to both the old and the new albums.

Kick-Ass 2 shows us a now almost-grown up Chloë Grace Moretz reprising her roll as Hit-Girl, as well as Aaron Taylor-Johnson back in the title character role. It also provides intrigue by adding Jim Carrey to the cast, and by the looks of the trailer, it has a good chance of being one of the rare sequels that lives up to the original.

When “Crown On The Ground” by Sleigh Bells first blew up back in 2009, it sounded so impossibly fresh that most people thought the band would burn out and never write another song that good, or that soon their sound would be so copied that it would make their style seem style. Flash forward years later and somehow the band has proven both notions wrong - they’ve continued to write new songs that live up to the standard of “Crown on the Ground” and though some bands may have tried, nobody has been able to imitate them, and their original sound still seems fresh.

On that note, it was awesome to hear “Crown on the Ground” used in the trailer for the upcoming film “The Bling Ring.” The Sofia Coppola-directed film, which starrs Emma Watson, Gaving Rossdale and Leslie Mann, was inspired by actual events about a group of teenagers who rob celebrities homes, and has us giddy in anticipation.

We haven’t had time to check out NBC’s new series Deception, but after a reader tip about a Sleigh Bells usage in the latest episode “Tell Me” we decided to give it a shot and we’re glad we did - judging off this episode, it has much higher production values and acting prowess than most soap operas.

As for the music, Sleigh Bells’ hard-hitting “A/B Machines” plays during a party scene at Mia’s house. You can check out the entire episode above streaming on NBC’s website by clicking the image above.

Sleigh Bells may have the most songs used in commercials, movies, video games, and everything else of any band we’ve ever covered, but we’re still not even close to growing tired of them. The latest use is in the promos for the upcoming new NBC drama, Do No Harm, which you can watch above.

Do No Harm looks like an early contender. A modern Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde-inspired series that seems to inject the medical drama genre with thriller and dark comedy elements, the show definitely scored some points with us for using “Riot Rhythm” in its promos, and we’ll be watching this closely to see if it can be one of the new shows that can establish itself this season.

Dr. Pepper has a new ad featuring two of the hardest hitters from their respective fields - Olympic boxer Mikaela Mayer and Sleigh Bells.  Mayer is a 21 year old who we are proud to say is from our great city of Los Angeles, and is the #1 rated female amateur boxer in the US, and is a 2016 Olympic hopeful.  For those of you who follow this blog, Sleigh Bells need no introduction, and their first breakthrough hit “Crown on the Ground” is featured in the ad, which you can see above.

Sometimes you can see a movie trailer and think “this is going to be awesome or terrible” and know it probably won’t be anywhere in between. Pain & Gain, the new Michael Bay action flick that looks like it could scratch the same itch that Bad Boys did.  Starring a ballooned-up Mark Wahlberg alongside The Rock, this movie will have explosions, gunfights, and adrenaline, but will it have a plot? Will the action be good enough that it won’t matter? Either way, we’ll be there opening night…

One thing that the movie already has working for it is a great use of “Kids” by Sleigh Bells in the first trailer, which we caught while attending Jack Reacher this weekend. The song starts 1:50 in to the trailer, over some cut up shots of the South Beach, where “Kids” feels right at home.

Back in 2009, Sleigh Bells introduced their dizzy hybrid of dance, noise and metal with “Crown On The Ground” - and many speakers and eardrums were blown. Since then, they’ve blown up with two huge albums, Treats and Reign of Terror that sometimes make us forget just how much of a revelation “Crown On The Ground” was.

Recently, the MLS used that modern-classic in an ad for the MLS Cup between the LA Galaxy and the Houston Dynamo, a game which sent David Beckham out as a champion in his last appearance for the Galaxy. Turn up your speakers and check out the spot above.

Sleigh Bells have developed a pretty notorious reputation for being edgy, both in terms of music and style, so it comes as no surprise to us that their stellar track “Crush” is featured in the new fall Victoria’s Secret videos, which feature models Alessandra Ambrosio and Lais Ribeiro. Check out the video above to see for yourself.

If there’s one thing people can say about Anthony Bourdain, it’s that he’s got good taste. In the most recent episode of his show No Reservations, Bourdain put his legendary taste on display in more ways than one, all from the hotbed of Austin, Texas during this year’s SXSW.

Check out a clip above with some episode highlights, which includes Bourdain eating a tasty-looking feast and shotgunning beers with Sleigh Bells, whose hard-hitting jam “Born to Lose” was also featured in the episode.

Today we were introduced to Juliet Starling, the protagonist of Lollipop Chainsaw. Juliet is a zombie-hunting cheerleader…does it get any better than that? The hack and slash game looks to be amazing, and features a killer soundtrack to boot.

We can’t wait to get our hands on a copy of the game to terrorize zombies while jamming out to tunes like “Riot Rhythm” by Sleigh Bells and “Empire State Human” by The Human League - because what’s better than killing zombies to the sounds of noisy dance music or classic 80’s synth pop? Check out the trailer above and see for yourself.
